Filmmaker Spotlight

The Alice Initiative is more than a list, it is an effort to support filmmakers we believe in.  We hope you will be as

inspired by their interviews as we are.

We encourage you to take a moment to get to know these 3 women and consider them for your upcoming projects.

What kind of projects do you want to be working on?

I want to work on material that is psychologically rich and complex, stories that move me emotionally and make me question the world around me.

What are your strengths as a director?

Character and story. I strive to make even the most wildly outlandish stories or characters feel real because that’s the key to making people feel something.

How do you feel about working on Spanish language vs. English language films?

My favorite stories have always been very universal stories, and I think that transcends language, so I don’t really have a preference for working in either language.
